Understanding Pinnacle
What is Pinnacle?

Pinnacle is a leadership development program designed for leaders and executives who want to experience the fullest capacity of psychedelics to influence their lives and leadership in a positive way. It is a program meant for leaders who want to explore and work with the deeper psychological patterns that shape how they lead.

Pinnacle is the most highly specialized psychedelic leadership program available in terms of how fully it converges across numerous interrelated domains:

  • Long-term executive coaching
  • Curated psychedelic experiences
  • Structured psychological work

Together, these components create an environment where participants can examine long-standing assumptions about key aspects of leadership, and we start by creating change from the inside.

Rather than focusing only on external leadership techniques, Pinnacle approaches leadership development from the inside out. Pinnacle is built around the belief that every leader can only go as far as their psychology allows them to. Through psychological development, leadership capacity can flourish to new heights.

Why was Pinnacle created?

Many leadership programs focus primarily on strategy, communication techniques, or performance optimization.

Those approaches can be valuable, but they often leave deeper psychological patterns untouched. External behavior change as a leader will be limited by inner capacity, every single time. There’s an inherent limitation in leadership development without addressing the inner workings of a leader.

Pinnacle was created to address that gap.

The program is built on a simple observation that leadership behavior is rarely just a set of skills. It’s a reflection of deeper beliefs about responsibility, authority, success, and identity.

When those deeper patterns shift, leadership behavior often evolves naturally and can be shaped and sustained more easily.

How is Pinnacle different from a psychedelic leadership retreat?

The psychedelic leadership retreats we have come across mainly center on the psychedelic experience itself. There is very little sustained leadership development work before and after the retreat. And when there is, it often lacks the rigor and expertise of coaches with substantial training and real-world experience. Most psychedelic leadership retreats treat leadership development as a bit of a lottery. It’s untargeted, unrefined, and banks on the wonderful potential of psychedelic medicine to get a leader to where they want to be more by chance than with intention.

Pinnacle is the first psychedelic leadership development company that has developed a process based on science and real-world expertise, both in terms of executive coaching and psychedelic therapy, to finally make psychedelic leadership a targeted process with expected outcomes rather than arriving there by luck.

What types of leaders participate in Pinnacle?

Pinnacle is designed for senior-level leaders, typically founders, executives, investors, and C-suite professionals, who are successful in their fields and committed to deep personal and professional growth. What unites our participants is not just their titles, but their willingness to explore the inner and outer dimensions of leadership: emotional intelligence, authenticity, and legacy.

Each cohort is intentionally curated to foster trust, mutual respect, and high-level dialogue.  We ensure leaders from non-competing industries and companies do not attend the same program, and you can expect to be among peers. Learning from and being supported in your development by other senior leaders in your cohort significantly advances your progress in the Summit program.

If helpful, we can schedule a call to discuss the upcoming cohort's profile in more detail and ensure it's the right fit for your goals.

Leadership Impact
What kind of leadership development should participants expect?

We categorize our programs as vertical development, which differs fundamentally from the skill-based horizontal training of traditional leadership development. Rather than trying to add more to you as the existing version of you, we are essentially upgrading the "operating system" of you as a leader.

We broke down leadership into its most fundamental parts, which is how we would frame the positive impacts you can expect to receive:

  • Purposeful Impact: Greater alignment between personal values and business actions, increased clarity in long-term vision, and a sense of energized commitment to leadership.
  • Enduring Resilience: A centered, resourceful presence. Increased capacity to handle feedback, setbacks, and high-stakes decisions without internal collapse.
  • Breakthrough Thinking: Enhanced creativity and innovation, improved decision-making under complexity, and the ability to lead from vision rather than habit.
  • Execution Excellence: Improved ability to translate insight into robust action. Stronger operational clarity, sense of pace, and comfort with accountability of self and others.
  • Self Mastery: Greater authenticity and stronger centered leadership. Ability to foster a more collaborative, innovative, and productive environment while simultaneously improving team dynamics and individual growth.
  • Bold Entrepreneurialism: Increased awareness of possibilities, decisiveness, appetite for innovation, and a bias toward bold yet aligned experimentation in leadership.

In fact, the list above comprises our Outer Leadership development framework for our Summit program.

What makes the Pinnacle leadership program so different from other leadership programs?

What sets Pinnacle apart is that it works from the inside out. Most leadership programs focus on outer leadership — skills like communication, decision-making, and strategic thinking. Pinnacle develops both outer leadership and inner leadership. Inner leadership is your capacity to know yourself deeply, regulate your emotions, align with your values, and lead from a place of clarity and grounded presence.

The use of psilocybin in a safe, professionally held environment allows you to access parts of your psyche that are usually out of reach. This creates space for real breakthroughs — not just surface-level change, but deep shifts in how you see yourself, relate to others, and move through the world.

We combine the transformational potential of psychedelics with the structure and discipline of leadership development. You will work closely with licensed therapists and experienced leadership coaches, both during and after the retreat, to ensure that insights become action, and change becomes lasting.

Pinnacle is designed to clear what detracts from your leadership abilities and reconnects you to what matters most, both as a leader and as a human being.

How long will any change last?

The changes that come from this kind of work can be long-lasting, but only if they are integrated into your life with intention and support. Insight alone is not enough. What matters is how you apply what you’ve seen, felt, and understood once the retreat is over. Nothing changes unless behaviour changes.

That’s why Pinnacle includes structured follow-up with therapists and leadership coaches. This ensures that the growth you experience is not just a moment of clarity but becomes part of how you lead, relate, and make decisions over time.

Many participants report that the shifts they experience continue to unfold for months or even years after the retreat. These include deeper emotional awareness, increased resilience, and a greater sense of purpose. In some cases, people describe it as a permanent reset — not a temporary high but a clear turning point in how they live and lead.

The more you engage with the integration process, the more enduring the change will be. Our role is to help you sustain that momentum and build a leadership life that reflects the best of who you are becoming.

How can a psychedelic experience influence leadership?

Leadership decisions are shaped by internal patterns that develop over decades. Many experiences in life that you barely remember have shaped the person and leader that you are today. These patterns influence how you respond to every circumstance you encounter.

Psychedelic experiences temporarily loosen these patterns and make them visible to you. They surface all sorts of unconscious patterns that exist within you and make them workable by bringing them to your awareness.

When leaders examine those patterns with curiosity rather than defensiveness, new possibilities for inner processes and outer behavior emerge.

Could I blow up my life afterwards? Can I go back to normal life easily, or will this shift me permanently?

It is very unlikely that you will “blow up” your life after this experience. The purpose of Pinnacle is not to push you toward impulsive or disruptive decisions. It is to support clarity, alignment, and conscious choice.

Yes, the experience can shift your perspective in a lasting way. You may see parts of your life, work, or relationships more clearly. Some people do choose to make changes afterward, but those changes tend to be thoughtful and grounded in deeper self-awareness, not chaos. That might mean setting new boundaries, making different leadership choices, or engaging in relationships with more honesty and presence.

Our team of therapists and leadership coaches is there to support you through this transition. We help you process any significant insights and explore what they mean for your life going forward. The goal is not to dismantle your world, but to help you inhabit it more fully and intentionally.

Psilocybin and the Experience
Why does Pinnacle use psilocybin?

Psilocybin is used because it has a unique ability to quiet the everyday mental noise and defensive patterns that often block deeper self-awareness and growth. It allows you to access a state of consciousness where old narratives, emotional wounds, and limiting beliefs can be seen clearly and worked with in a meaningful way.

From a scientific perspective, psilocybin temporarily reduces activity in the brain’s default mode network — the part responsible for self-criticism, rumination, and rigid thinking. This allows for greater neuroplasticity, emotional openness, and insight. From a human perspective, it creates the space to feel, see, and understand yourself in a way that is often not accessible through traditional reflection or coaching alone.

Psilocybin is not used to escape or to overwhelm. It is used intentionally, within a structured and professionally supported setting, to help you access clarity, emotional depth, and transformational insight. When combined with preparation, skilled facilitation, and post-retreat integration, it becomes a powerful catalyst for leadership development and personal alignment.

What does a psilocybin experience feel like?

The experience of psilocybin can vary from person to person and from one session to the next, but there are some common elements. You may feel a shift in perception, such as changes in the way you see colors, hear sounds, or feel your body. Many people describe a sense of emotional openness, connection, or clarity. You might experience strong emotions, vivid imagery, or insights about your life, relationships, or patterns of behavior.

At times, the experience can feel expansive, peaceful, or deeply moving. At other times, it may bring forward discomfort or inner resistance. This is not a sign of something going wrong. In fact, challenging moments are often where meaningful breakthroughs happen, especially when held in a safe and supportive environment.

The most important thing is not to chase a specific kind of experience but to stay open to whatever arises. Our team is there to support you through all phases of the journey and help you make sense of it afterward through integration.

How long does the experience last?

A psilocybin experience typically lasts anywhere between four and eight hours, depending on the person. The most active phase usually begins about 30 to 60 minutes after ingestion and lasts for several hours. After the peak, the intensity gradually tapers off, and many people spend the final part of the experience in a reflective, quieter state.

We design the entire day to support this process, from the initial preparation and setting of intention, through the journey itself, and into a gentle landing period. You will not be rushed or left alone at any point. Our team remains fully present and available throughout.

After the session, we provide a nourishing meal, time for rest, and space to begin integrating the experience with professional support.

Will I lose control during the psilocybin experience?

It is possible that you may feel a temporary loss of control during the experience. That might include emotional vulnerability, a sense of disorientation, or difficulty tracking time or thoughts. This can feel unsettling, especially for high-functioning individuals who are used to being in control. However, this surrender can also open the door to deep insight, healing, and transformation.

The key difference at Pinnacle is that you are not navigating this alone. You are in a safe environment, supported at all times by licensed professionals who are trained to guide people through exactly these kinds of experiences. You are never left unsupported.

Is psilocybin addictive?

Psilocybin is inherently non-addictive. It tends to bring up whichever uncomfortable inner experiences stand in the way of true psychological freedom and personal agency, and this can be a difficult process to experience. Addictive substances offer respite from inner pain, and psilocybin quite literally does the opposite. People can’t run away from their issues on psilocybin, which is what makes it such a powerful tool for personal development.

What’s the worst thing that could possibly happen to me?

Psilocybin has a strong safety profile, especially when used in structured, professional environments. The entire Pinnacle process minimizes risks of working with psilocybin. The most serious risks are psychological, such as temporary anxiety, confusion, or distress. In extremely rare cases, unresolved trauma may surface in a way that requires continued support after the retreat. That is why we place such importance on screening, preparation, and integration.

You will be in a controlled, supportive, and professional environment designed to help you move through whatever arises safely and with meaning.

On a physical level, psilocybin is also completely non-toxic to the body.

Will I remember everything from my psilocybin sessions?

Most people remember the key parts of their psilocybin experience, especially the emotional insights, images, or messages that feel personally significant. Some details may be vivid and crystal clear, while others may feel dreamlike, symbolic, or hard to put into words.

It is also normal to forget certain moments or shifts in awareness, especially during the more immersive or altered parts of the journey. That is why we encourage journaling, voice notes, and integration conversations soon after the session. These help capture and deepen what arose.

Our team is trained to help you make sense of both what you remember and what may feel just out of reach. Even insights that are not fully verbalized often continue to work at a deeper level in the days and weeks after the experience.

What kinds of insights can people expect from psilocybin within Pinnacle?

Participants report a wide range of meaningful insights that can transform how they lead and live. Common themes include:

  • Clarification of core personal values and a renewed sense of purpose
  • Recognition of limiting beliefs or habitual patterns that no longer serve them
  • Heightened emotional awareness and the ability to name and work with difficult feelings
  • Deep empathy for others and improved ability to foster authentic connections
  • Fresh perspectives on complex challenges and creative problem-solving
  • More aligned  interconnection with team members, stakeholders, and the wider system
  • Insight into the roots of stress or burnout and tools to cultivate resilience and agility
  • Moments  that open the door to greater service-oriented leadership
  • Renewed motivation to align daily actions with long-term vision

Every journey is unique, so the specific insights vary. What unites them is a shift beyond surface thinking toward a deeper level of clarity and alignment. Our team helps you capture these insights through guided processing and structured integration so they can be woven into your leadership practice.

How is the psilocybin ingested?

Psilocybin is ingested in the form of 0.5-gram capsules. This method allows for precise dosing and a gradual, stepwise approach to the experience. Rather than taking a large amount all at once, participants typically take multiple capsules over the course of the session, guided and supported by the facilitation team.

This approach allows us to tailor the dose to your individual needs, sensitivity, and psychological state in real time. It helps reduce the likelihood of overwhelm and supports a smoother, more intentional unfolding of the experience.

The capsules are taken orally and begin to take effect within about 30 to 60 minutes. Throughout the journey, you are supported by trained professionals who ensure that the process is safe, well-paced, and aligned with your readiness.

How is the dosage of psilocybin determined?

There is no one-size-fits-all with psilocybin. Each person has a unique sensitivity and tolerance, shaped by physical, emotional, and psychological factors. Because of this, we do not use a single fixed dose for everyone. Instead, Pinnacle uses a flexible, three-dose approach to ensure your experience is both safe and personally attuned.

Psilocybin is ingested in the form of 0.5-gram capsules. You begin with a low first dose to help us assess how your system responds. From there, the second and third doses are carefully adjusted in real time based on your sensitivity, your emotional state, and the direction your experience is unfolding.

This method allows us to curate your experience with precision. Some participants need only a small amount to enter a meaningful state of awareness, while others may require more to move past cognitive control or emotional resistance. The goal is not intensity for its own sake, but depth, clarity, and integration.

Throughout the session, you are closely supported by our trained therapists and facilitators, who help guide the pacing and dosing with care.

Where do you source your psilocybin?

We grow our own psilocybin mushrooms in a controlled and carefully monitored environment in Jamaica, where psilocybin is fully legal. This allows us to maintain strict quality control from cultivation to preparation.

We regularly lab test for potency, so we know exactly what we are working with. This ensures accurate dosing and consistency across all capsules used in the retreat. By managing our own cultivation and testing, we avoid the variability that often comes with sourcing from external or unregulated suppliers.

This level of oversight allows us to provide a safe, reliable, and ethically sourced medicine that supports the depth and integrity of your experience.

Pinnacle Credentials
Who designed the Pinnacle program?

Pinnacle was created through a years-long collaboration among our founders, who came together at a psilocybin retreat. Our founders consist of leadership development experts and psychedelic professionals with more than a decade of experience in psilocybin-assisted therapeutic retreats.

The program integrates knowledge from several domains:

  • Psychology
  • Neuroscience
  • Leadership Development
  • Psychedelic Facilitation

This interdisciplinary design allows the Pinnacle team to address leadership development at the neurological, psychological, and behavioral levels.

What results have you seen in others from the use of psilocybin in a leadership development context?

Our founders have been hosting therapeutic psilocybin retreats through MycoMeditations for over a decade now. Guests who joined in hopes of improving their abilities as leaders reported shifts across a range of inner and outer capacities that left a positive impact on their leadership. Oftentimes, people came for reasons outside of leadership development and later realized vast improvement in this area simply from accomplishing psychological healing that held them back in all facets of life.

Some of the most common outcomes include:

  • Greater self-awareness and reduction in reactive behaviors
  • Improved ability to navigate uncertainty and complexity
  • Increased authenticity and alignment between personal values and leadership actions
  • Improved interpersonal relationships and stakeholder engagement
  • Relief from chronic stress, burnout, or internal conflict that has previously gone unaddressed

In a leadership context, psychedelics can break through conditioned thinking patterns and bring forward insight that is often inaccessible through traditional coaching and leadership development. When combined with expert guidance, integration, and a psychologically safe group of peers, the results can be transformative and enduring.

Do you have testimonials or leaders I can talk to about their experiences and the impact on them and their leadership?

Our founders have worked with many leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs as hosts of legal, therapeutic psilocybin retreats for over a decade. We would be happy to introduce you to the guests who joined these programs to work on their capacity as leaders throughout the years, or to those who noticed improvements in their leadership skills without this necessarily being their primary goal, of which there are many.

Practical Considerations
How much of my time will be taken up by joining Pinnacle?

While the Pinnacle programs span 8 months (for Summit) or 5 months (or Ascent), the actual time commitment is designed to be manageable for busy professionals. The extended duration is not about constant activity — it is about giving you the space to absorb, apply, and integrate deep work without rushing the process.

Each program includes:

  • 1 in-person 8-day psilocybin retreat in Jamaica for the Ascent Program; 2 x in-person (both 8-day) psilocybin retreats for Summit Program.
  • A structured sequence of virtual preparation and integration sessions with our psychologists  and leadership coaches
  • Reflective practices and exercises between sessions that you adapt to your schedule
  • Peer connection touchpoints throughout the program

On average, you can expect to dedicate 8-10 hours per month outside the retreat week. These touchpoints are spaced intentionally so that the work stays alive in your daily life while still fitting around your responsibilities. However, we expect you to commit to prioritizing your leadership development by joining Pinnacle.

The longer time frame ensures that the changes you make are sustainable, not just intense retreat experiences that fade. It is about depth, not constant demand. You stay engaged without being overwhelmed.

How do I know which Pinnacle program (Summit or Ascent) is best for me?

To determine which of Summit or Ascent is right for you mainly comes down to how much commitment you want to make and how fully immersed in leadership development you want to be.

Summit is an 8-month program that will require you to travel to Jamaica for two 8-day retreats to work with psilocybin. Ascent is a 5-month program that requires only one 8-day retreat in Jamaica.

Summit is a total immersion into leadership development, as both Summit retreats are designed specifically for you and your cohort of leaders on the same development track. Ascent will have you attend a therapeutic psilocybin retreat, with other people joining for a variety of personal needs.

Summit retreats will be led by Pinnacle co-CEOs, Justin Townsend and Sharon Toye. Ascent retreats through MycoMeditations will be led by their experienced team of licensed therapists and facilitators.

Summit is cohort-based, which means you will need to adapt your schedule to participate in this program. The two retreats are on fixed dates, so your ability to attend is required. Ascent allows you to join a MycoMeditations retreat that best fits your schedule.

Summit has a specific leadership framework that we have developed to guide you through an 8-month development process. Ascent will work with you based on where you are currently in your leadership capacity and what you present to us.

Summit involves a bespoke assessment process that we have created to track your leadership progress from the start of the program through the end. Ascent will utilize standardized assessments to track progress across a range of markers that are selected with you.

The leadership coaching calls are spaced out equally across both programs, as they are both scheduled flexibly every few weeks. However, the total duration that your coaching calls take place is longer within Summit (8 months) than it is for Ascent (5 months).

Can I ever back out and get my money back?

We understand that entering into psychedelic work, especially at this level of depth and leadership focus, can feel daunting. While participants are free to leave the program at any time, we do not offer refunds once our programs have begun.  We reserve a spot for each participant investing significantly in preparation, facilitation, and integration resources that begin well before the first session.

It’s important to note that not every psychedelic experience is immediately pleasant or comfortable, and that’s often where the most transformative growth happens. If challenging experiences occur , our highly skilled facilitation team is there to support you through them, safely and professionally.

We also conduct a thorough intake and preparation process to ensure that each participant is psychologically ready and that expectations are aligned before the retreat begins. We are committed to helping you be well-informed, well-resourced, and well-supported throughout the journey.

Can I have the same experience without flying to Jamaica? Are there options in Europe?

The full Pinnacle program is currently offered with retreats only in Jamaica, where psilocybin mushrooms are legal, and we can work in a completely open, structured, and psychologically supported way.

Do you recommend making major business decisions immediately after a retreat?

No. Especially not unilateral, identity-driven decisions such as resignations, radical pivots, or strategic decisions. The discipline is to translate insight into a decision process: test it over time, pressure-test it with trusted advisors, and let behavior change precede life overhauls.

Preparation & Intention Setting
What happens during the preparation phase of the programs?

Preparation work focuses on first getting a sense of where you currently stand in your leadership capacities and understanding your inner challenges. Alongside this process of inner leadership development, we maximize your psychological readiness to make the most of the program's psilocybin experiences.

Participants explore questions such as:

  • Why am I drawn to this work now?
  • What are the leadership limitations that I want to address?
  • What leadership challenges am I currently facing?
  • What patterns in my life feel unresolved?
  • How can I best explore the psychedelic experiences?
  • What can I do to open up to this experience as much as possible?
  • What can I do to be ready for the retreat(s)?
What should my intention be for the Pinnacle program and retreat?

There is no single correct intention for this kind of work. What matters most is that your intention is honest, meaningful to you, and rooted in curiosity rather than control.

Some participants come with a clear focus, such as addressing burnout, reconnecting with purpose, or accessing the power of psychedelics for breakthrough thinking. Others arrive with a more open-ended intention, like “to experience what I experience  or “to know myself more fully.” Both are equally valid.

We’ll guide you through a preparation process before the retreat to help you clarify your intention in a way that is both focused and flexible. The most powerful transformations often emerge when you bring a sincere question and then allow space for unexpected insights to arise.

How do I prepare mentally and emotionally for the psilocybin experiences?

Mental and emotional preparation is essential to getting the most out of this experience. You don’t need to be in a perfect place, but you do need to be willing to engage with yourself honestly.

  • Before the retreat, we’ll guide you through a structured preparation process that includes:
  • Personal intention-setting
  • Psychological groundwork, including reviewing key professional and life themes and patterns
  • One-on-one sessions with our team to explore any concerns
  • Tools for emotional regulation, such as breathwork or journaling
  • Recommendations for minimizing distractions and clearing mental space

We may also encourage a pause from certain substances (like alcohol or cannabis) and guide you in creating reflective space in your daily life. This isn’t about control. It’s about making room for something meaningful to emerge.

The most important thing is your mindset. Approach the work with openness, humility, and a willingness to let go of needing to control the process. That’s where transformation begins.

How do I know if I’m ready for this kind of experience?

Readiness is less about having everything figured out and more about your willingness to engage honestly with yourself. You don’t need to be in a perfect state of mind, but you do need to feel a genuine calling to explore beneath the surface of your current ways of being.

You may be ready for psychedelic-enhanced leadership development if:

  • You’re usual strategies for success or self-regulation are no longer enough
  • You're feeling stuck, burned out, or disconnected from your purpose
  • You're open to emotional honesty, even if it's uncomfortable
  • You’re willing to relinquish control and let the experience unfold on its own terms
  • You’re committed to integrating what you discover into your life and leadership

Before joining the program, we guide every prospective participant through a detailed screening and intake process. This helps us assess psychological readiness, emotional resilience, and alignment with the core values of the Pinnacle experience.

If you’re unsure, that’s okay. We can talk it through. Sometimes the question of readiness is itself the beginning of the work.

Integration & Post-Program
What happens during integration sessions?

Integration is where our team takes your psilocybin experience and works with you to turn it into tangible benefits in your personal and professional life.

After the retreat, participants meet with coaches to reflect on what they encountered during their psilocybin sessions.

These conversations often focus on:

  • Insights about leadership patterns
  • Emotional responses that emerged
  • Connections between personal history and professional behavior

Over time, with sustained focus and implementation, these reflections will translate into direct practical changes in how you lead.

Why is integration important after psychedelic experiences?

The experience itself is only half of the process. Without careful attention and effort towards integration of these experiences, people can lose sight of the lessons or breakthroughs they experienced.

The integration process is what will help you translate insights back into your leadership. This process that will be guided by your Pinnacle executive coaches and psychologists. We ensure that this process remains a primary focus for you throughout Pinnacle, and we will set you up with how to best continue this work after your program completes.

Some examples of what psychedelic integration involves can be:

  • Reflection on what occurred during the experience
  • Gleaning the most important takeaways from it
  • Having necessary conversations with people
  • Staying aware of patterns you uncovered and working to shift them if necessary
  • Experimenting with new behaviors in different aspects of your life

Also, psilocybin leaves your brain with heightened neuroplasticity for approximately one month after the experience. This means that you are able to establish better thought processes and behaviors more easily, and can break down problematic patterns more easily.

How long does psychedelic integration take?

You will be involved in a formal integration process for the duration of our programs.

But, it is our goal to help you understand that integration is actually just an ongoing process of awareness and critical thinking towards what is going on within you and engaging with it to enact outer change.

Your experience with psilocybin and Pinnacle will catalyze a new way of relating to yourself as a person and leader, and living an integrated life will become more natural to you by the end of the program.

Retreat Schedule & Logistics
What is the schedule like during the retreat?

You can download copies of our Summit and Ascent prospectuses through our website. The prospectuses will provide further details on everything included in each program.

For the exact daily itinerary of our retreats, we will share more about this privately through our consultation, should you consider a Pinnacle program.

What’s the ratio of participants to staff/facilitators?

We maintain a high staff-to-participant ratio to ensure that each person receives personalized support and care throughout the experience. Typically, our ratio is one staff member for every two participants, or better.

This includes licensed therapists, trained facilitators, executive coaches, an on-site nurse, and additional support staff. It allows us to provide close attention during psychedelic sessions, personalized integration work, and a high level of safety and responsiveness at all times.

This level of support is one of the key features that sets Pinnacle apart. We do not believe in large-group models in which people are left to navigate their process on their own. You will be seen, supported, and guided every step of the way.

What’s the size of the group and the likely composition of the group?

Pinnacle cohorts are intentionally small and highly curated. We typically work with 6 to 8 participants per retreat. This allows for deep interpersonal connection, personalized support, and a high degree of psychological safety.

Participants are generally senior leaders, founders, investors, or high-impact professionals who are not just successful in their fields but also deeply committed to personal growth. While industries and backgrounds may vary, what unites the group is a shared willingness to look inward, lead with greater integrity, and engage in meaningful transformation.

We take great care in assembling each cohort to ensure compatibility and a supportive group dynamic. We also ensure that leaders from competing organisations will not be in the same cohort. Before the retreat, you will have a chance to connect with the team and learn more about who you will be in the program with.

Privacy and Confidentiality
Is participation in a psilocybin program a risk to my professional reputation?

This would be a question that you need to think about for yourself. However, discretion is a core piece of our program. We recognize that this type of experience is misunderstood by many people. To help protect your standing, we curate cohorts in a way that ensures leaders from competing industries or firms are never placed in the same program.

How do you ensure the confidentiality of what is said and happens at the psilocybin retreats of Pinnacle?

Confidentiality is a core pillar of the Pinnacle experience. We create a container of psychological safety where participants can be open without fear of judgment or exposure. All members of the facilitation team are bound by professional codes of ethics and strict confidentiality agreements.

Each participant also signs a mutual confidentiality agreement prior to the retreat. This agreement makes it clear that what is shared in the group stays within the group. We emphasize this commitment throughout the program and foster a culture of deep respect and trust among peers.

This level of discretion is especially important given the professional standing of our participants. We take it seriously, and our track record reflects that.

Can Pinnacle speak to representatives or concierge services on a client's behalf for maximum privacy?

Yes. For HNWIs and high-profile executives who wish to remain private while exploring our programs, we can speak with their representative.

That said, we will need the individual participating in our programs to complete the application themselves prior to their registration.

Safety and Screening
What’s the screening process to make sure I’m safe to use psilocybin?

Your safety is our highest priority, and our screening process reflects that. We use a gold-standard model that was developed by the Pinnacle founders, which draws upon screening protocols within psilocybin clinical trials, as well as from years of real-world experience facilitating thousands of psilocybin sessions.

The process includes:

  • A detailed intake questionnaire covering your mental health history, physical health, medications, and key life experiences
  • A one-on-one screening session with a licensed clinician or senior mental health professional from our team
  • Internal review by our psychological and medical advisors if there are any risk factors or complexities
  • We specifically assess for contraindications such as a personal or family history of psychosis, unmanaged bipolar disorder, or recent use of medications (like SSRIs) that could blunt or complicate the effect of psilocybin.
  • Our goal isn’t simply to screen people out, but to ensure the timing, context, and support are right for your safety and success. If needed, we’ll provide clear guidance on next steps, whether that means preparing further or exploring alternative paths.
How much medical oversight will there be?

Pinnacle offers a high level of medical and psychological oversight to ensure your safety and well-being throughout the entire experience.

Each retreat includes:

  • A licensed nurse onsite for the full duration of the retreat, monitoring physical health and attending to any medical needs
  • An MD on call, available for consultation in the event of any medical concerns
  • A psychiatrist on our core team is available during retreat week if needed, providing additional support and guidance as appropriate

In addition, most members of our facilitation and integration team are licensed mental health professionals. This ensures that both the psychological and emotional dimensions of the experience are held with expertise, care, and professionalism.

While psilocybin is physically safe for the vast majority of healthy individuals, we hold ourselves to clinical standards that exceed typical retreat settings. Our team is experienced, well-prepared, and deeply committed to your safety and growth.

Are there any risks involved in using psilocybin?

Yes, as with any powerful psychological tool, there are risks involved in using psilocybin, but when used responsibly, with proper screening and professional support, those risks are significantly reduced.

The most relevant risks include:

  • Psychological distress: Psilocybin can bring forward intense emotions, unresolved trauma, or difficult insights. While this can be deeply healing, it can also be overwhelming without proper support.
  • Short-term anxiety or confusion: Some individuals may experience moments of fear, disorientation, or loss of control during the session. Our team is trained to work with these states in real time.
  • Physical safety: Though psilocybin itself is non-toxic and non-addictive, disorientation or impaired coordination can occur during a session. That’s why we provide a controlled, supervised setting.

Pinnacle is designed to minimize these risks through rigorous screening, licensed facilitators, and a high staff-to-participant ratio. Our clinical protocols are based on both research and experience. Most importantly, Pinnacle retreats are done in a safe, supportive environment where challenges are embraced—not feared—and integrated with care.

How are the therapists or facilitators trained to help participants?

Our facilitators and therapists are highly trained and experienced in both traditional and psychedelic-assisted therapeutic and developmental modalities. Most are licensed mental health professionals with backgrounds in clinical psychology, psychotherapy, or counseling, and all have experience working in non-ordinary states of consciousness.

Their training includes:

  • Psychedelic preparation and integration best practices
  • Supporting psychedelic dosing sessions, including nervous system regulation
  • Advanced therapeutic approaches that focus on Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, AEDP, ACT, and Jungian-informed methods
  • Group process facilitation, with a focus on safety, attunement, and non-judgmental presence
  • Cultural sensitivity, ethical boundaries
  • Working with high-performing individuals and leaders

In addition to formal credentials, each team member has undergone extensive hands-on training in the unique dynamics of psychedelic leadership work. They know how to hold space when things get intense, and they’re skilled at helping you translate insights into meaningful change.

We work as an integrated team to ensure continuity of care before, during, and after the retreat.

How safe is taking psilocybin for someone with anxiety, depression, or trauma?

For many people with anxiety, depression, or trauma, psilocybin—when used in the right setting with professional support—can be not only safe, but profoundly healing. Clinical research has shown that psilocybin can lead to significant and lasting reductions in symptoms of depression, anxiety, and PTSD, especially when paired with skilled preparation and integration.

That said, safety depends on the individual. Not everyone is immediately ready for this kind of work, which is why we have a comprehensive screening process in place. This includes:

  • A detailed intake questionnaire reviewing your mental health history, trauma background, current symptoms, and medications
  • A one-on-one screening session with a licensed mental health professional
  • Internal review by our clinical team if there are any areas of concern
  • We carefully assess your emotional resilience, psychological readiness, and support systems to determine if the timing is right. Our goal is to ensure that every participant can engage with the experience safely and productively.

If you have a history of trauma or emotional difficulty, that does not disqualify you. In fact, many of our participants come with exactly those challenges. What matters is that we determine together whether this is the right time and context for you to do the work.

Can psychedelics make existing mental health issues worse?

Yes, in some cases, psychedelics can temporarily worsen or destabilize existing mental health conditions—especially if those conditions are not well-managed or if the person is not properly screened and supported.

For example:

  • Individuals with a personal or family history of psychosis or schizophrenia may be at increased risk, as psychedelics can trigger symptoms in vulnerable individuals.
  • People with bipolar disorder, particularly those with manic tendencies, may be at risk for mood destabilization.
  • Those with severe, untreated trauma or certain personality disorders may experience intense emotional flooding or dysregulation without the right therapeutic container.

This is why we use a comprehensive screening process. Our intake includes a detailed psychological history, and participants meet one-on-one with a licensed mental health professional before being accepted. If there are concerns, our clinical team may consult further or suggest additional preparation.

That said, for many individuals with well-managed depression, anxiety, or trauma, psilocybin has shown tremendous therapeutic potential. When the right safeguards are in place, it can help rather than harm.

The key is matching the right person with the right timing, the right preparation, and the right support. That’s exactly what Pinnacle is built to provide.

I have had mental health challenges in the past. Will this bring that all up again?

It is possible that some of your past mental health challenges may resurface during the experience. This does not necessarily mean something is going wrong. In many cases, what comes up is what is ready to be seen, processed, and released.

Our approach is not to suppress or avoid difficult material. Instead, we create a safe and professionally supported space where you can engage with it in a constructive way. With proper preparation, guidance, and integration, revisiting unresolved experiences can be healing rather than re-traumatizing.

Before the retreat, you will go through a comprehensive screening process with a licensed mental health professional. This helps us assess whether the timing and setting are appropriate for you and ensures we can offer the right level of support.

If concerns arise during screening, we will talk through them with you and may recommend further preparation or an alternative plan. Your safety and long-term well-being are always our top priority.

What happens if I have a “bad trip”?

What many people refer to as a “bad trip” is more accurately described as a challenging experience—one that surfaces difficult emotions, unresolved memories, or internal conflict. These moments can feel overwhelming in the moment, but they are often the gateway to real transformation when supported properly.

One of the most important factors in determining whether a psychedelic experience becomes harmful or healing is set and setting.

  • Set refers to your mindset going into the experience—your emotional state, intentions, and expectations.
  • Setting refers to the physical and interpersonal environment, including the safety of the space and the skill of those supporting you.
  • Poor set and setting—such as being unprepared, unsupported, or in an unsafe or chaotic environment—can increase the likelihood of disorientation, fear, or panic. This is often what people mean when they describe a “bad trip.”

At Pinnacle, we take set and setting extremely seriously:

  • You are thoroughly prepared in the weeks leading up to the retreat, with guided intention-setting and emotional groundwork
  • The space is safe, beautiful, and designed for deep inner work
  • Licensed therapists and trained facilitators are present and available at all times during the session
  • Our team is experienced in holding space for strong emotional states with care and professionalism
  • After the session, we guide you through integration so that whatever arises can be understood and worked with

A challenging experience is not a bad experience. In fact, this is often where the most meaningful growth happens. With the right support, difficult psilocybin experiences become the source of genuine breakthroughs.

Medications & Risk Management
Can I participate if I’m on antidepressants or other psychiatric medications?

We ask all our participants to wean off of these antidepressants and most psychiatric medications with the help of their prescribing physician. This is less because it is unsafe to combine these medications with psilocybin, and more that they introduce a high chance of nothing happening during you experience.

Pinnacle’s approach is to treat this with clinical seriousness. We screen thoroughly and, when appropriate, coordinate around safe timing and readiness based on your weaning process. This is not something we fool around with, and it’s not something you should either.

Do SSRIs and antidepressants “block” psilocybin?

It’s common for serotonergic antidepressants to alter or blunt psychedelic effects for some people. In our experience, the exact degree of impact from SSRIs and other antidepressants varies a lot due because of a wide range of factors, such as the dose, how long a person has been on them, personal metabolic factors, and the exact medication.

When it comes to factoring this into the Pinnacle psilocybin experiences, this uncertainty essentially means that we would have no idea what to expect in terms of the psilocybin intensity if our participants are on psychiatric medication.

However, for people who are fully weaned off their medications, we largely know what to predict when it comes to tailoring intensity for your psilocybin sessions, which is a key factor in psychedelic work.

I have high blood pressure. Is that a problem?

It can be. Some controlled studies and reviews note dose-related blood pressure changes and highlight that participants with uncontrolled hypertension are often excluded from trials, which is exactly why proper screening matters.

We have developed a heart screening protocol for people with high blood pressure and other heart-related issues or historical factors to ensure maximum safety and complete confidence in our screening.

Can psilocybin trigger panic or overwhelm?

It can, but this is far more likely to happen in unstructured settings where support is lacking and irresponsible consumption of psilocybin has occurred.

The difference between a panic attack and confronting underlying anxiety in a safe, transformative way is simply the setting and support available.

Is there a risk of prolonged perceptual effects or HPPD?

There are documented cases and clinical discussions of persistent perceptual disturbances after hallucinogen use, although prevalence estimates vary and the topic is often poorly understood in mainstream care.

Pinnacle reduces risk by treating screening, dosing context, and integration support as non-negotiable. These are not optional add-ons for us.

How does Pinnacle reduce the risk of adverse outcomes compared to informal use?

Pinnacle’s program are designed to support you to fullest capacity at every stage of your experience with us.

We ensure that all participants are carefully screened, which ensures that our program is aligned with your needs and motivations.

You will develop a close relationship with your coach and psychological care team throughout the entire course of your program. We are alongside you at every step and are there to support you no matter what arises.

When you join our retreats, you are joining a psychedelic retreat model that has been called the gold-standard of psychedelic retreats.

Therapeutic Considerations
Why are there therapists involved in this leadership program?

Pinnacle programs ensure you are supported by an integrated team of executive coaches and therapists.

The presence of therapists in the Pinnacle Leadership Programme is intentional and essential. The retreat is a deep inner journey that involves exploring the unconscious patterns, emotional blocks, and life experiences that shape how you lead and live.

Our therapists work in tandem with our highly experienced executive coaches, all of whom have both psychedelic experience and are deep experts in leadership development.

What is the purpose of the therapists in a leadership program?

Therapists are trained to help you navigate these experiences safely and constructively. Their role is to provide emotional support during the journey and ensure psychological safety.

Our coaches and therapists work together to help bridge the space between deep personal insight and real-world change. This ensures that the transformation you experience does not remain abstract but becomes something you can apply in your leadership and in your life.

If I don’t want to engage in therapy, would that disqualify me from joining Pinnacle?

Yes. Therapeutic guidance and input are an essential part of the Pinnacle program. If you wish to participate, it is important to be open to working with trained therapists as part of the process.

This is not traditional talk therapy, nor is it imposed as a clinical intervention. Instead, it is a structured form of support designed to help you navigate the psychological and emotional terrain that often arises in psychedelic work. The role of the therapists in your Pinnacle program will be to help you take whatever arises from your psilocybin sessions and convert these experiences into meaningful, psychological interventions that will allow us to do deeper work when it comes to leadership. Think of it as an accelerant to what our programs are designed to accomplish.

Therapeutic input ensures that the breakthroughs you have will be translated into impactful changes across your leadership and life. Pinnacle is designed for those who are willing to explore themselves deeply, with the guidance of professionals who know how to hold that process with skill and care.

Is Pinnacle a therapy program?

No. Although the program incorporates psychological insight and therapeutic principles, it is not designed as clinical treatment.

Participants are typically functioning professionals who are interested in personal growth and leadership development rather than those in need of treatment for mental health conditions.

I don’t have any big issues or childhood traumas. What will I get from the therapy in Pinnacle?

You do not need to have major issues or a traumatic past to benefit from therapy. Everyone has psychological blind spots. Also, in our experience hosting psilocybin retreats, the vast majority of guests who arrive believing they have no past issues discover surprising aspects of their history they were unaware of. They then realize that their ability to function in the way they aspire to has been limited by these past experiences. Your past doesn’t necessarily have to be traumatic to have a potentially negative impact on you.

Many high-performing individuals come to this work not because they are in crisis, but because they want to lead with greater capability, authenticity, and purpose. Psilocybin reveals the unconscious patterns that prevent this. When paired with therapy, these experiences expand self-awareness and open access to creativity, intuition, and emotional depth that is often hard to reach through conventional methods.

  • Participants without significant trauma often report:
  • A renewed sense of direction and focus
  • Enhanced emotional intelligence and empathy
  • A clearer connection between personal values and leadership choices
  • Relief from subtle, persistent stress or performance pressure
  • A more grounded and meaningful connection to life and relationships

This work allows you to uncover what’s actually within you, which in turn, helps you get past the internal limitations that prevent outer flourishing. Even without a dramatic backstory, untapped potential often lies just beneath the surface. Pinnacle helps you access that with care, intention, and lasting impact.

Legal Considerations
Is psilocybin legal in Jamaica?

Yes. Psilocybin mushrooms are legal in Jamaica, which is one reason the country has become a center for facilitated psychedelic programs.

Jamaican law does not criminalize the cultivation, possession, or use of psilocybin mushrooms. This legal framework allows retreat programs to operate openly and responsibly.

Pinnacle’s retreat experiences take place in Jamaica so that the work can occur within a lawful and transparent environment.

Is psilocybin regulated in Jamaica?

In Jamaica, psilocybin itself is legal, but there are no actual regulations for psilocybin. This mean  that companies carry the responsibility of maintaining ethical and professional standards in how experiences are facilitated.

Pinnacle is built to not only meet any standards that would be set if there were to be any, but to exceed them in terms of harnessing the potential application of psilocybin while ensuring that the experience is as safe as possible.

Ethics & Consent
Why is ethics such a big topic in psychedelic spaces right now?

As psychedelics become more commercialized and popularized, it has drawn in many unethical actors. Due to the oftentimes esoteric and ambiguous nature of psychedelics, people can get away with facilitating these experiences in an irresponsible or dangerous way without the participants knowing any better. There are many documented cases of boundary violations and unethical facilitation that have emerged over the years. This includes environments where training is minimal, oversight is weak, and participants are pressured into experiences or dynamics they didn’t consent to.

We believe psychedelics must be worked with in the most responsible ways possible and support the increased scrutiny over bad actors. A lack of ethical maintenance negatively influences the emergence of psychedelics back into healthy integration with our society.

Will I sign an Informed Consent before participation in Pinnacle?

Yes. Every Pinnacle participant must complete an informed consent before beginning the program.

Our informed consent was developed from over a decade of experience working with psychedelics in a therapeutic setting, and in line with all the best practicies of clinical research. This ensures that you have complete understanding of any risks that may be involved and are making an informed decision under your own accord to join Pinnacle.

What should I look for to avoid unethical psychedelic programs?

There are already a few places that appear to offer services related to leadership development through psychedelics. Oftentimes, they may not necessarily be unethical, but there is a wide variety of honesty in terms of what you genuinely expect in terms of leadership development and how exactly they plan to get you there.

When it comes to discerning for ethical options, look for signals such as:

  • In-depth screening procedures
  • Full disclosure of program details
  • Methodology applied for leadership development
  • Clear expectations for program engagement
  • Having professional or expert credentials
  • Thoughtful and open dosing protocols
  • Integration that extends long after the psychedelic component

If a program sells certainty and shortcuts, is vague and unclear about their program, or relies on any sort of guru personality driving the offering, then we generally advise these to be poor signs of ethical engagement with psychedelics.

Spiritual & Existential
Can this help me connect with a higher self, spirit, or purpose?

Yes. Many participants describe the experience as a powerful reconnection with something greater than themselves, whether they define that as their higher self, spirit, inner wisdom, or life purpose. The interesting part is that this tends to be the case for practically everyone who works with psilocybin in an intentional manner, regardless of their personal background.

Psilocybin has a well-documented ability to quiet the default mode network of the brain, which is often linked to the ego or inner narrator. When that quiets down, it becomes easier to access deeper layers of awareness.

Will this change how I see the world and make me want to change my career or life direction?

It is possible. Many participants report that the experience shifts how they see themselves, their relationships, and the world around them. Some come away with a clearer sense of purpose or recognize that certain aspects of their current life no longer align with their values. Others return with renewed commitment to their work with a deeper sense of presence and clarity.

The purpose of this work is to create space for honest reflection and deep inner alignment. If changes do arise, they tend to come from a grounded place of insight rather than impulsive reaction.

We support you in exploring what any new realizations might mean and how to integrate them thoughtfully into your life. Sometimes that leads to external shifts. Sometimes it brings peace with what already is.

How do I make sense of mystical or non-ordinary experiences?

Mystical or non-ordinary experiences are not uncommon with psilocybin. These can include a sense of unity with all life, encounters with symbolic imagery, a feeling of timelessness, or contact with something that feels sacred or beyond the self. While these experiences can be powerful, they can also be hard to put into words or understand through a logical lens.

We help you make sense of them through guided integration. This includes one-on-one support, group discussion, and reflection practices designed to explore the personal meaning of what you experienced without needing to force it into a fixed belief or framework.

You do not need to have a religious or spiritual background to benefit. What matters is how the experience connects to your inner life, your leadership, and the way you live your values. Some insights may feel metaphorical, others direct and actionable. Both are valid.

Our team is experienced in working with these kinds of experiences respectfully and without judgment. We are here to help you explore them in a way that feels grounded, meaningful, and empowering.

Is this compatible with my religion or spiritual beliefs?

Yes. This work is not tied to any specific religion or belief system. It is designed to support your own personal exploration, whatever your background may be.

Many people find that the experience deepens their existing spiritual or religious beliefs. Others discover a renewed sense of connection, meaning, or purpose without needing to adopt any new framework. The experience is personal and often speaks to people in a way that feels aligned with their own values and worldview.

We are not here to tell you what to believe. Our role is to create a safe and supportive space for you to explore what is already within you. That might include connecting more deeply to your faith, questioning old assumptions, or simply feeling more at peace with the mystery of life.

Microdosing & Self-Experimentation
Does Pinnacle include microdosing protocols?

No. Pinnacle is designed around rare, carefully facilitated, full-spectrum experiences because that is where the most meaningful psychological material tends to become visible, and workable.

Microdosing is widely discussed in executive communities, but the strongest controlled evidence base does not support many of the claims made online. In the largest placebo-controlled study design to-date using a self-blinding approach, improvements were largely explained by placebo/expectancy effects.

Our position is simple: if you’re serious about leadership transformation, you build around depth, structure, professional support, and integration. We don’t view psychedelics as a daily performance supplement. The microdosing approach barely scratches the surface of what psychedelics can really do.

Why doesn’t Pinnacle build around microdosing if so many leaders are curious about it?

Because leadership development isn’t about getting a mild cognitive “edge.” It’s about changing the internal architecture that drives your decisions, relationships, and ability to stay resourced under pressure.

A meta-analysis of numerous microdosing studies found no detectable benefit across most cognitive domains, with a small but significant decrease in cognitive control—which may be the opposite of what many leaders believe they’re signing up for.

When leaders come to Pinnacle, they’re usually not looking for more output. They’re looking for more clarity, truth, and internal freedom. We have developed a structured pathway to translate that into reliable changes in behavior.

If microdosing benefits are partly placebo, is that bad?

Not necessarily. Expectancy effects are real in all human change processes. But Pinnacle’s standard is higher than hoping something helps without understanding why. We have built  Pinnacle around approaches that hold up under rigor: structured preparation, a well-designed psychedelic container (the set and setting), and integration that converts insight and emotional breakthroughs into new behaviors in you as a leader.

If I have microdosed in the past, will that impact my Pinnacle experience in a bad way?

Not necessarily. What matters is your current attitude about how you plan to relate to the  psychedelic experience of Pinnacle. Pinnacle is built for leaders who want to move from experimentation to intention, and to do this psychedelic leadership development work in a professionally held setting with real developmental follow-through. Pinnacle will require that you lean into discomfort, and so long as you don’t view psychedelics as a just a booster (which is how microdosing is often approached) you will be fine in our programs.

Does Pinnacle take a position on “stacking” microdoses with supplements?

While we are not against it, stacking regimens are lightly evidenced and easy to rationalize as responsible while bypassing deeper work. At most, it lends a small neurological foundation that may have minor positive benefits to all the other work you are doing. But that is the key: it is best that you are combining a stack with genuine personal work.

If you want a development outcome, the question is not “What should I stack?” It’s “What pattern keeps repeating in my leadership, and what do I need to see in myself to change it?”

What about microdosing for creativity and strategy?

Executives often search for creativity through psilocybin, but the best-controlled evidence for microdosing does not show robust cognitive enhancement in this arena. In contrast, supported macrodose experiences, such as what is worked with in Pinnacle, can shift perspective drastically, reduce rigidity, and increase psychological flexibility. These are all variables that often indirectly support better strategic and creative thinking.

Is Pinnacle anti-microdosing?

No. It’s just that we are pro-evidence, pro-ethics, and pro-adult responsibility. Our stance is simply that microdosing has become culturally over-claimed, and if anything, harms the growth of the entire psychedelic space. With microdosing gaining much of the attention when it comes to psychedelics, people collectively begin to interpret these experiences as what “doing psychedelics” is. Pinnacle provides access to work with psychedelics in their most complete capacity, Pinnacle exists for leaders who want a development model that can stand up to scrutiny, both psychologically and scientifically.

What’s Pinnacle’s view on “museum doses”?

In general, lower doses can still be meaningful, and this may be the only safe way to explore psychedelics.

But, these doses will still keep most individuals (particularly high-control, thinking minds) in the cognitive layer. This isn’t where psychological change happens.

Pinnacle is not designed as a minor exploration of psilocybin and altered states. It is designed as a targeted, intensive leadership development journey where the goal is to access what your mind typically protects you from seeing. You can expect to work with high doses of psilocybin mushrooms. Our protocols have been developed to work with these doses safely and this is where the most significant and lasting change happens. We then help you to turn that material into durable leadership change through the integration process.

Professional Discretion & Governance
Will psilocybin show up on a standard workplace drug test?

Most standard workplace panels do not screen for psilocybin/psilocin; detection generally requires specialized testing in order to find psilocybin. That said, Pinnacle does not position itself as a workaround for employment policy. If drug testing is a serious concern in your role, we encourage you to approach the decision with legal and professional realism.

Can Pinnacle help me think through disclosure of participating in this leadership development program?

Yes, we would be happy to discuss this in our consultations if this is a concern of yours. Many leaders don’t need more information about how or why to engage with psilocybin. Rather, they need a clean internal understanding of what actually needs to be disclosed: Who needs to know, why, and what’s the simplest way to share about it?

A common approach is: don’t over-share and don’t lie. You may choose to name this as an intensive leadership and personal development experience, and you can keep the specifics of the program involving psilocybin private, unless you think there is a helpful or necessary reason to disclose.

How do I explain my time away without disclosing psychedelics?

You can describe your participation in Pinnacle accurately without naming the involvement of psilocybin or psychedelic into the process.

In a scenario like this, leaders may use language to describe the program as:

  • “A leadership development retreat”
  • “An intensive personal development program”
  • “A development offsite with continued coaching”

You don’t fabricate a lie that introduces complexity. You choose a truthful category description that matches what Pinnacle is by sticking to this being a long-term executive development program.

Will Pinnacle ever pressure me to share personal information in the group?

No. It is completely up to your discretion about what you choose to disclose in a group environment. While this work does require personal disclosure that involves your core reasons for joining Pinnacle in the first place (psychological blocks, personal history, challenges you face, etc.), it is up to you which other details are necessary to share or not.

What is the most reputationally dangerous way to approach psychedelics as a leader?

We would not advise approaching psychedelics without a careful, measured approach. Psychedelics are powerful substances, and can absolutely cause harm when worked with in the wrong hands, inadequate screening, reckless dosing protocols, or unskilled support. This could lead to people becoming unbalanced or destabilized when they return to their regular lives following a psychedelic experience.

Leaders can protect themselves by being precise with how they engage with this process. Work within a trusted support system with practitioners who know how to safely apply this medicine within a context for legitimate leadership development.

Additional Questions
How does Pinnacle help leaders who feel addicted to optimization?

Many high performers simply have a control problem, and don’t understand there is much to gain by letting go and adopting indirect approaches and easing off the intensity.

They’ve learned that intensity, output, and mental force can solve almost anything—until it can’t. Psychedelic work, done correctly, often confronts the underlying need to control and replaces it with a more mature capacity, which involves surrender, discernment, trust, values-aligned action, and emotional range. That shift is one of the most striking leadership-relevant outcomes we have seen in leaders.

If I want to approach psychedelics responsibly as a leader, what’s the simplest rule?

Don’t treat psychedelics like a productivity tool. Treat them like a high-leverage psychological intervention that requires:

  • Adequate screening
  • Careful preparation
  • Safe settings
  • Skilled, leader-informed support
  • Long-term dedication to integration

That general structure mirrors how serious clinical protocols are designed, even though Pinnacle’s purpose is leadership development rather than treatment.

Do I need to fast or follow a specific diet before psilocybin?

Individuals vary, and we don’t treat nutrition as a superstition. It is common in therapeutic and retreat contexts to minimize variables that increase unnecessary nausea, physiological discomfort, or sleep disruption. In general, we guide our participants towards a light breakfast followed by a few hours of fasting on psilocybin session days, as this tends to help with quicker onset of the experiences and helps to minimize any food-related nausea.
